Recently, we’ve been participating in events in the local community to raise awareness of the valuable programs available through Highland Canine Connect.

These events allow us to inform the public about the huge benefits of the programs our non-profit is able to offer, from our popular School Reading Program to providing fully-trained Service Dog donations to families in need. They also help to raise vital funds which make these programs possible.

Our volunteers work tirelessly to make these events a success, and we would like to express our sincere thanks to all who have dedicated their time. If you’re interested in joining them by volunteering at one of our future events, or would like to help in other ways, please fill in an application form!

Fundraising Event at Fourth Creek Brewing Co.

On Friday, August 23rd, Highland Canine Connect held a fundraising evening at Fourth Creek Brewing Co. in Statesville, NC.

The night was a huge success, with a selection of Highland Canine Connect’s service animals in attendance and demonstrating their skills.

Our volunteers also provided attendees with useful information about the mission of the non-profit, along with details about how they can help us in the future.

The event included a raffle and several generous donations from local businesses and organizations. We are so grateful for your support and for helping to make this fundraiser a success!

Local musician Dani J Kerr provided the soundtrack for the evening with a fantastic selection of classic Southern rock.

All in all, this was a fantastic event – thank you to the team at Fourth Creek for their help and support in arranging this event!

Brushy Mountain Apple Festival

On Saturday, October 5th, Highland Canine Connect attended the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival in North Wilkesboro, NC.

Our booth at the annual Brushy Mountain Apple Festival invited festival attendees to make a small donation in exchange for a kiss from one of our pups – an offer many couldn’t refuse!

Our volunteers also provided visitors to our booth with important information about the role of Highland Canine Connect and the work we do to help local communities, such as through our School Reading Program.

All of us – volunteers and canines alike – had a blast at the Apple Festival and enjoyed being in attendance!

Thank you again to our volunteers, and all who visited our booth.
