Many of our volunteers at Highland Canine Connect offer their time to members of our local community, participating in our initiatives to improve lives and raise awareness of our mission.
Volunteers typically handle one of our service dogs in training at these events.
Our popular School Reading Program helps children to improve their reading ability by increasing their confidence. Volunteers play a key role in these activities, ensuring that the dog is able to provide comfort and reassurance as kids read their books to them.
Our team of volunteers also participates in other events across the state. Most recently, our volunteers have helped out communities in Western North Carolina who were severely impacted by Hurricane Helene.
On this page, you can learn more about our upcoming volunteer events – and how you can help.
