About Dale Wilson
A North Carolina native, Dale Wilson served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. In the course of active duty, Dale lost his left leg below the knee, his right leg at the hip, and his right arm above the elbow.
Dale has worked tirelessly in the decades since, supporting the veteran community and inspiring friends and family members along the way. In 2009, Dale was awarded the Outstanding Disabled Veteran of the Year by Disabled American Veterans.
About Beau
Beau is a Goldendoodle. He is six months old.
Beau will perform a variety of mobility-related tasks to assist Dale in everyday activities, such as:
- Fetching/retrieving objects
- Opening cabinets/doors
- Heeling and walking alongside a scooter, wheelchair and cane
- Deep pressure for night terrors
- Reaching light switches and elevator buttons

What will donations be used towards?
Your donations will help to make this partnership a reality. It can only be made possible through the generosity of our supporters.
With your donations, Beau will be trained to provide Dale with the assistance he needs.
Just some of the expenses incurred in the process of providing a fully-trained service dog are:
- Training the dog for well over a year, i.e. cost of dog food and training equipment
- Veterinary care, including but not limited to vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm prevention, flea and tick prevention
- Thousands of hours of socialization outings in public places
- Equipment provided upon delivery, such as a harness, leashes, collar, and personalized backpack
